Acanthus Oversized Botanical Scarf — Silk & Merino Wool
Acanthus Oversized Botanical Scarf — Silk & Merino Wool
Created
Silk & Merino Wool | 36" x 80" | Multiple Colorways
Drawn from the past. Reimagined at a grander scale.
Acanthus began with a beautiful early-1900s textile print. The original motif was deconstructed and reinterpreted by hand, enlarging its graceful leaves, florals, and scrolling forms into expressive, sweeping strokes.
At this new scale, the familiar acanthus becomes something altogether different. Broad leaves curl across the scarf, delicate blossoms interrupt the composition, and scattered details give the design an almost painterly spontaneity. There is history in the pattern, but nothing about it feels precious or predictable.
The acanthus leaf has appeared throughout the decorative arts for centuries, in architecture, textiles, furniture, and ornament. Here, that classical vocabulary is loosened up through color, scale, and a wonderful touch of whimsy.
Each fabrication gives Acanthus a distinctly different character, from the fluid movement and luminosity of fine silk to the soft warmth and body of Merino wool. At a generous 36" x 80", it offers real visual impact and enough fabric to wrap, layer, and drape beautifully. The named colorways transform the artwork again, giving each interpretation its own personality.
The Reach Factor
You will reach for this piece time after time. Acanthus has the presence of a statement piece, yet its roots in classical pattern give it remarkable longevity. Wrap it around yourself: the fabric is so beautiful it drapes itself perfectly on you.
