Kantha
KANTHA
Inspired by the traditional kantha textiles of India, this scarf takes its name from a beautifully simple form of quilt-making: layers of fabric placed together without batting and joined by rows of hand stitching. Those repeated straight stitches create texture, movement and the distinctive quilted character for which kantha is known.
Our Kantha interprets that textile tradition through pattern rather than construction. Painterly florals, decorative borders and the appearance of layered motifs come together in a palette of wardrobable colors. The result has the collected, richly wearable patterned feeling of a treasured textile—yet remains wonderfully light and easy to wear.
There is an appealing imperfection to the design: florals overlap, borders wander and colors shift as though assembled from different pieces of cloth. Wrapped around the body, those elements continually rearrange themselves, revealing something different with every fold.
Warm, artistic and wonderfully textile-driven, Kantha celebrates the beauty of cloth, handwork and pattern passed through generations.
